Michael Zimmerman is CEO and President of Zimmerman Ventures. Michael has a strong background in healthcare financial management and revenue cycle operations, having spent thirteen years in the healthcare revenue cycle industry. Between 2004 and 2012, Zimmerman Ventures has launched and supported six new healthcare-centric companies. Currently, Michael and his teams work with over 1,100 hospitals, and provide solutions that bring high levels of return on investment. Michael has been featured in articles from HFM Magazine, HealthLeaders, Modern Healthcare, the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management and The Wall Street Journal.
Theresa Senk is a Senior Director of Zimmerman Ventures. Senk works with our companies to establish, audit and control policies and procedures for all human resource and administrative operations. She brings a unique perspective to the position with prior experience in banking and healthcare operations. Senk currently oversees the Human Resource function for Zimmerman-managed ventures. Senk has been with Zimmerman for 25 years, is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and has extensive training through American Medical Association (AMA) and MRA Institute of Management organizations. Senk holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin—Platteville.
Alex Vealitzek is a Vice President of Zimmerman Ventures. As part of Zimmerman’s presence in healthcare, Alex guides early-stage investments through business planning, launch and deal structure phases and helps portfolio companies with a variety of strategic operational projects. Alex has a focus on healthcare reform and emerging provider-based operational models. In addition, Alex serves as the legal advisor to the firm and its portfolio companies. Prior to joining Zimmerman Ventures, Alex worked as an associate attorney at Mayer Brown in project finance and development with a focus on regulated industries. Alex received his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and his bachelor's degree from Lake Forest College.
Derek Foster is CFO of Zimmerman Ventures. Derek specializes in strategic development of early-stage investments, including development of strategic investment thesis’, international operations, strategic partnerships, and technology development. Derek joined Zimmerman Ventures from Fiserv’s Mergers & Acquisition Division, a $4.6 billion global financial services information management and electronic commerce systems company. Derek has a BBA in Tax Accounting from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee – Lubar School of Business.
